Amazon.de listing suspended over LUCID? Here's exactly why, and how to fix it
Why this happens without warning
Amazon does not manually review packaging compliance — it queries the German Packaging Register (LUCID) automatically and compares the data to what you provided in Seller Central. A suspension typically means one of these:
- Your LUCID registration was never completed, or covers a different legal entity name than your Amazon account
- You registered but never joined a dual (recycling) system — registration alone is not enough
- Your German Authorised Representative appointment was not confirmed correctly in LUCID
- Your account was flagged during a periodic compliance sweep and the data no longer matches
What to check first, in order
- Log into LUCID (if you have access) and confirm the registration is active and the company name matches your Amazon seller account exactly.
- Check dual-system status — a LUCID number without an active dual-system contract is the single most common cause of suspension we see.
- Check who is named as your Authorised Representative — if a previous provider's mandate lapsed or was never properly confirmed, the registration can become invalid without any notice reaching you.
How long does it take to get back online?
Once the representative is properly appointed and the dual-system contract is active, the LUCID data updates and Amazon's automated check clears the block on its next verification pass — this is typically a matter of days, not weeks, but every day the listing is down is lost revenue, so speed matters more here than anywhere else in compliance.
Fixing it properly so it doesn't happen again
A quick fix that gets your listing back is not the same as being compliant. The recurring reasons sellers get suspended a second time: choosing a provider that only registers but doesn't maintain the dual-system relationship, or letting annual reporting lapse after the first year. A German Authorised Representative should handle registration, dual-system participation and reporting as one ongoing service — not a one-time fix.
