Amazon Germany blocked your listing? Diagnose which compliance issue it is, in 5 minutes

GPSR · VerpackG / LUCID · BattDG · Updated July 2026
In one sentence: Amazon.de compliance blocks almost always come from one of three separate German/EU laws — product safety, packaging or batteries — and the message Amazon shows you usually tells you which one, if you know what to look for.

Start here: what does the notice actually say?

Amazon mentions...Likely causeWhat it means
"Responsible Person", "GPSR", "product safety"Missing or invalid EU Responsible Person under the General Product Safety RegulationYou need an EU-established Responsible Person named on the product/listing
"LUCID", "packaging", "VerpackG"Missing, mismatched or inactive packaging registrationYou need a valid LUCID registration with active dual-system participation, via a German representative if you're non-EU
"Battery", "BattG", "BattDG", "stiftung ear"Missing or cancelled battery registrationYou need a stiftung ear registration for every relevant battery category, via a German representative

If the notice doesn't say which one

Some suspension notices are generic. In that case, check in this order — it reflects how often each cause shows up in practice:

  1. Does your product contain a battery, or is it packaged for shipping? If yes to either, both packaging and battery law apply to you, separately.
  2. Do you have an EU-established Responsible Person on record? If not, GPSR is almost certainly part of the issue — it applies to every consumer product, not just certain categories.
  3. When did you last update your compliance information in Seller Central? If it's been over a year, a routine data mismatch is a common trigger even without any change on your side.

Why sellers often have more than one issue at once

These three laws are independent — appointing a GPSR Responsible Person does nothing for your packaging obligation, and a valid LUCID registration does nothing for batteries. Sellers who fix one and assume they are "compliant" frequently get blocked again weeks later for a different reason. This is precisely why bundling all three under one representative, instead of juggling three separate providers, avoids the second surprise.
